HSR 0.80 is coming along

We have set the release date for version 0.80 for May 23. Be there to try out the latest release.

SVN and Trac go Live

Well, I’ve done it. I’ve managed to finally get both of these things going live. I’m really excited about this.

You might have seen the links in the site already. Under the download section there are two new links. Subversion and Trac.

You can checkout the latest revision from the SVN server with the checkout command:

svn co http://betzster.no-ip.org/svn/hsr/trunk/

Then if you want to update, you just go to your working directory and update with the update command:

svn update

Now this is all assuming that you already have Subversion installed on your system. If not, you can get it by going to http://subversion.tigris.org/.

You can find the trac site at: http://betzster.no-ip.org:8000/hsr/.

I guess this might seem like a little bit of overkill, since right now I’m the only developer. This whole setup makes it much easier for me to keep everything updated. It also makes it much easier to see how far development is going, and how much is left. I can predict release dates, and trends will start to appear. If I ever decide to get more developers for the project this system will already be in place and we will at least have a place to start from. Plus, now you can get updates as they happen instead of when I officially release something if you decide to help.

Update: The SVN server has been moved over to http://gigabetz.com/svn/hsr/trunk/. Likewise, the Trac server is at http://gigabetz.com/trac/hsr/

SVN and Trac

I finally got Subversion and Trac running. I even got some initial tickets setup. It’s all local right now. I’ll run them through the webserver Sunday or some time next week.

There are a few really nice things that this does for me:

  1. I can concentrate on development more now and really see where this whole thing is going. It’s nice to have a map. Plus, everyone else can see where it’s going too. That’s really nice.
  2. The Subversion and Trac systems are setup so if I ever start something else I’ve got somewhere to put the stuff.
  3. The Subversion and Trac systems are up – Now that I’ve done it once, the second time should be about 100% easier. So when I finally get that new server to dedicate this stuff to I’ll know what I’m doing.
When I get everything running to the web I’ll put links up on the site and everything

Setting Up an SVN Server

I will be setting up an SVN server sometime in the next week, so look for that. I need to get the SVN setup before I do any more development, this will make a lot of things much easier, including recommendations. I was looking at tortoiseSVN, but if anybody has any recommendations let me know. I’ll post all the SVN information when I get it all setup.

Update: Looks like I’m going to use trac to manage SVN. I really like this project. I’ve seen it on wordpress.org and it looks like it’s very easy to use, and exactly what I’m looking for.

HSR .70 Release

It’s been a long road, but the first public version of HSR, HSR v.70, is available for download on the Download page.

HSR Beta Release Date

The first official release of High School Reunion will be available on Sunday September 21, 2008.

Launch of HSR site!

Well, the day is finally here. I’ve launched hsr.joshbetz.org.

I’m working on a theme for the blog so it’s integrated with the rest of the site, but this will have to do for now.

High School Reunion is not publicly available for download yet, but I’m working on it. I’ll announce a release date in the next week. Thanks for visiting and check back for the initial release!
